Iconic Gothic Duos for Halloween

Iconic Gothic Duos for Halloween

Struggling to find the perfect matching Halloween costume that suits you and your gothic tastes? We’ve got you covered; in this list, we’ll cover a range of iconic Gothic figures that will make for the perfect, unique yet on-theme Halloween couple costume.

Morticia and Gomez Addams likely hold a special place in all our gothic black hearts. This iconic duo is the perfect fun and campy costume for this Halloween, and we’ve got you covered on what to wear. Our Banned Velvet Bat Black Midi Dress has a slit up the leg for when you steal the show and recreate the iconic dancing scene, and long draping sleeves that mimic Morticia’s in the older films. The velveteen fabric is perfectly gothic, with a near-invisible bat pattern adding texture through the darker colours. The best thing about this gothic dress is that it’s not limited to one Halloween costume. This dress is great for wearing year-round, and can be repurposed into a witch's dress or a vampiric dress for next year!

For Gomez, some black eyeliner to recreate the pencil-thin moustache is a necessity. If you don’t have a blazer jacket, consider our Bleeding Heart Black Woollen Jacket. With a cinching belt around the waist, this 50s-inspired jacket is perfectly in line with 2025’s autumn and winter trend predictions. This jacket has a smooth and shiny exterior, perfect to complement the velvet Banned Bats dress. Just like our Morticia dress, this jacket is also great for future autumn and winter seasons, keeping you warm and stylish. Pair with a black or white shirt and some black trousers for a sophisticated Gomez Addams costume.

For an Addams Family Halloween costume that’s a little more current, why not go as Wednesday and Enid? This is a hilarious and fun idea if you and your bestie have opposite aesthetics! We have Elvermorny and Wednesday merch to help you fit into your roles.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is another cult classic movie. This Tim Burton movie not only has a banging soundtrack, but some fabulous character designs that would be super fun to recreate for your own Halloween costume!  For Jack Skellington, all you need is a suit and some face paint before your look is complete! Although Sally Stitches' design may be harder to recreate, we trust that it will look amazing once it’s done. If you don’t want to try to find (or recreate yourself) Sally’s quilted dress, try matching certain colours or patterns to find the closest dress you have. Or, switch it up and create a modern look to circumvent the need for the colourful patchwork.

Another Tim Burton classic is Edward Scissorhands; every group has a girly pop friend and their more emo alternative. Team up this Halloween for an amazing takeover. Your Edward Scissorhands costume may look terrifying, but the knives can be made from cardboard glued to a cheap pair of black gloves. An all black, with a gothic bondage harness, will complete your Edward outfit; pale concealer and foundation will help you achieve the iconic ghostly pallor. Backcomb your hair for maximum volume, and you’re set. Winona Ryder stars as Kim, the romantic interest of the film. A blonde wig and white dress are the perfect simple costume to match.

Do it right, and this Halloween costume could be just as iconic as the pair it’s based on. One of the most instantly recognisable couples in the UK is Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, and Sharon Osbourne, X-Factor judge and prominent television figure. Long hair has always been an instantly recognisable part of Ozzy’s look, which has remained long throughout his entire career and later life. If you don’t have long hair, look at photos of Ozzy from the 80s for styling inspiration for shorter locks. The circular sunglasses are another key part of the look; red or purple would suit best. And if you’re up for it, some dark and smudgy eyeliner would really help to sell your Prince of Darkness costume. Sharon Osbourne’s most recognisable feature is, of course, her scarlet red hair. Typically seen in a leather jacket or black blazer, as a judge on the X-Factor or America’s Got Talent, and a white shirt. Despite this duo’s legendary status, their clothing was often relatively simple and shouldn’t be too difficult to replicate.

With plenty of onscreen adaptations and the infamous source material, Dracula (and vampires in general) will always be a popular Halloween costume. Dracula and his wife, or Dracula and a vampire slayer, is a great way to transform this mythical character into a two-person Halloween costume. Fangs, fake blood and red contact lenses, along with some dark clothing, should have you set for the night. If you want to go the extra mile for your Dracula-inspired costume, a black cloak with red lining is a stereotypical part of the costume that will help you become even more recognisable.

For your monster hunter look, aim for something between Wild West and pirate. This should comfortably land you within the region of a Van Helsing-esque character (obviously, we’re on about the unforgettable 2004 film version). This 2004 action-horror film is also a great place to start if you’re looking to create a gorgeous Dracula’s wife outfit. Often, the bride of Dracula is depicted in standard-fare gothic dresses, with a V-neck and occasional high collar in black and red and sometimes with lace accents. If you can find a dress with witchy, flowing bell sleeves, all the better. However, if you’re looking for a step away from the traditional, this 2004 film has the brides in skimpy, flowing pastel fabrics that are great if you or your friend has less of a gothic aesthetic.

Another fun duo this Halloween could be going as a vampire and a werewolf. Our Banned Buffy Fuzzy Jacket is perfect for a monstrous werewolf costume this Halloween, with long faux fur and tufted ears on the hood. This jacket will also keep you nice and cosy as you howl to the moon all night long!

With the classic Halloween monsters, there are loads of opportunities. If you’re looking to expand into a group, having one (or two, depending on numbers) dressed as monster hunters and everyone else dressed as the classic Halloween monsters (a vampire, a werewolf, Frankenstein, a demon, a ghost) is an easy way to include everyone, whilst still having unique and definitive distinctions between outfits!

If you were still struggling with deciding on your Halloween costume before reading this, we hope that this has given you some unique and fun inspiration! Get your friends involved and create some show-stopping couple costumes this Halloween!
