Motorhead’s iconic discography began in 1977 with their debut, self-titled album Motorhead. Over the following four decades, they released a total of 23 studio albums, some of which, like Overkill, Bomber, and Ace of Spades, rose into the UK Top 40 chart, cementing their reputation as a high-level rock band. 

Motorhead’s music can be defined as heavy metal and is often credited as an influence for the rise of numerous musical genres in UK culture, including thrash metal and speed metal.

The band consisted of many different people over time, with Lemmy Kilmister, bassist and lead vocalist, being the only consistent member of the group. In 2015, after Lemmy Kilmister’s tragic death, the band was disbanded. 

Despite the band’s less-than-happy ending, their discography remains iconic. Their dark themes, innovative lyrics, and phenomenal music make them one of the most loved metal bands of all time.
