Peridot labret stud – surgical steel studs – internally threaded studs UK
Polished Surgical Steel 1.2mm Internal Thread Labret (Peridot)
Our labret studs come in a wide range of sizes and styles, ideal for a number of alternative piercings. You can wear labret jewelry in a variety of different piercings, which is why we offer such a range of sizes and widths. Many of our labret piercings are made of high grade titanium, making them suitable for fresh or healing piercings.

What is a labret stud?

Labret studs feature a flat back, unlike barbells which have a ball add on at each end. Labret bars have a threaded accessory such as a ball to one end of the labret bar which holds it in place. Labrets are often used in lip piercings, ear piercings, and can be worn in nose piercings.

How do you remove a labret stud?

To remove a labret stud, hold the bar or flat back of the stud to keep it secure and use the other hand to unscrew the ball accessory. Once this has been removed you can gently take the bar of the labret stud out of your piercing. Labret studs removal can be fiddly so it may be easier to ask for help, especially from a professional piercer.

How to unscrew a tight labret stud?

To unscrew a tight labret stud, you can use a pair of special jewellery pliers to gently grip the ball add on and unscrew it from the bar. You may find that the ball feels stuck if this is your first piece of jewellery. The piercer will have made sure your labret stud is on securely during the healing process. You can always return to the store for help from a piercer in removing your labret stud.

How do you put a labret stud in?

To put your labret stud in, guide the bar of the labret stud through your piercing hole. Next, you will need to put a ball on the end of the labret stud to keep it in place. This will screw on to the end of the bar. Make sure it is securely fastened to the labret. When inserting your labret stud take care to gently guide the bar through your piercing, especially if it has only recently healed.

How long should a labret stud be?

The length of your labret stud will depend on which type of piercing you are wearing it in. For example, you will need a small labret stud for a nose piercing but a longer labret for a conch piercing. We generally stock labrets that range from 6mm to 12mm in length. It is best to check with your piercer which size labret stud they have used for your piercing as it will vary depending on your anatomy. Your piercer may initially use a longer labret stud to accommodate any swelling which will be changed to a shorter bar during healing.

Getting the right length of labret is important, especially in lip piercings because they need to be short enough not to rub against your gums. Labrets are ideal for lip piercings as they have a flat back that won’t interfere with your gums or teeth, in order to prevent chipping or enamel wear.

Can you use labret stud nose piercing?

You can use a labret stud as a nose piercing. It is an excellent choice of jewellery for nostril piercings because the flat back of the labret sits flush against the inside of the nose which many people find more comfortable. The labret stud gives you plenty of options of what style and colour to wear in your nose piercing. A labret nose stud has the added bonus of being easy to clean and maintain.

Can you put a labret in your lobe?

You can put a labret in your lobe. While most people associate labret studs with lip piercings, they are a great choice of piercing jewellery for ear piercings such as the helix, conch, tragus, auricle, scapha, and lobe piercing. An earlobe is an easy place to quickly insert labret stud earrings by pushing the bar from the back to the front of the lobe piercing and screwing on the ball. Labret earrings are available in a range of colours and designs at Blue Banana.

Can I use a labret for my Helix?

A labret is suitable for use in helix piercings. In fact, many people opt for labret studs in the ear piercings because the flat back is more comfortable than other types of piercing jewellery. The back sits flat against the back of the helix piercing meaning if the ear is pressed into the head the labret jewellery does not dig in.

Not only can you choose the material and size of your labret bar, but you can also shop a range of colours to find one that suits your desired look. Our range includes:
  • Labret Studs Gold
  • Labret Studs Silver
  • Labret Studs Rainbow
  • Titanium Labrets – Available in a range of colours and designs
We also have labret retainers, which are clear to allow your healed piercing to be far less noticeable - perfect for work or school!
