Is Slipknot releasing new music?
Slipknot has just released new music, The Dying Song (Time To Sing). The band is back with a new and improved sound that we can’t get enough of it. Yes, the song has been on repeat since we first heard it!
Slipknot The Dying Song includes Corey Taylor’s visceral and graphic imagery in his lyrics, paired with typical-but-never-boring Slipknot breakdowns. This new Slipknot song features a memorable hook and an awesome heavy sound. It's clear to see the newest member’s influence in this song such as bassist Alessandro Venturella’s (also known as VMan) funky bass lines, particularly in the final bridge of the song. After 20 years plus in the metal scene, it's obvious that Slipknot has truly honed their craft and perfected their sound with this killer tune!
New Slipknot Dying Song Music Video
If you haven’t already checked it out then you can watch the new video for Slipknot’s The Dying Song below:
Not only have we been spoilt with a brand new Slipknot song, but we’ve also been entertained with a new music video too.
Whilst Slipknot’s music videos are always pretty epic, the aesthetics for The Dying Song is something we haven’t seen before. Slipknot music videos are often gruesome and dark like Left Behind and The Devil In I, but this new music video takes a very different route. With mirrored walls and strobe lighting, this is a new direction for Slipknot music videos. One thing that is typical of Slipknot is the cult-like references we see at the start and end of the video!
New Era, New Masks: Slipknot Masks in 2022

We love seeing the Slipknot members headbanging in the new song as well as their awesome new masks! This music video gives us a chance to get a glimpse of the new era of Slipknot masks for The End, So Far album.
Corey Taylor’s new mask is a wicked combination of the All Hope Is Gone era mixed with the Iowa era. This mask tops the previous few styles which were not too popular with the Slipknot fanbase, Maggots. We also get a glimpse at Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan’s mask which is in keeping with his trademark Clown style but has a mosaic mirrored look. The mask we did not recognise from the band’s previous music video for the single The Chapletown Rag, was Sid Wilson’s. Sid has opted for a metallic-looking style with big eyes making his mask super creepy and machine-like. We also see Sid holding what looks like a head wearing his previous mask from the We Are Not Your Kind Era.
The band also debuted a brand new look for The End, So Far era uniforms. With a militaria style in black and red, they're also adorned with traditional ‘S’ Logo embellishments and barcode motifs.
If you’re up to date with the Slipknot line-up then you’ll have recognised the newest member, who is affectionately named Tortilla Man by the fans, Michael Pfaff. We loved seeing Pfaff in the Slipknot overalls with Jester collar and wry zipped-smile in this music video.
