DESCRIPTION
Following the massive commercial success of their album Sleeping in Arcadia and their appearance headlining Download, we’ve got some brand new Sleep Token merch to share with you. This Butterflies design balances the imagery of life and death delicately, with the rotted and broken, warped tree stump surrounded by multiple butterflies carefully hovering. Underneath, the fantasy script that the band uses in their merch is scrawled across near the bottom of the top in deep red. The monochromatic butterflies contrast sharply with the blood red splatter patterns across the t-shirt, serving to emphasise their delicacy. This t-shirt maintains the band's typical style, using common motifs found across all their band merch t-shirts, such as the symbolic script and the band's logo, whilst also introducing new themes of hope and lightness into the merch. This move seems inspired by their latest album, which did have more hopeful themes, even if Sleep continued to haunt Vessel. This is visualised through the way the butterflies, symbols of freedom and transformation, perch on the dead tree trunk.
